Our Church Covenant

Confession of Faith

I have accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior. By the grace of God and the presence of the Holy Spirit in me, I accept Jesus Christ as Lord of my life. I accept the Bible as the Inspired Word of God and the standard for faith and practice in my life. The 1963 Mennonite Confession of Faith states my beliefs and I accept it as my guide for lfe.

Commitment to the Congregation

  • I am committed to accountability and responsibility as a member of this congregation.
  • I will participate in mutual sharing of joys and sorrows for the welfare of the body of believers.
  • I will work toward reconciliation in all personal relationships.
  • I am committed to being a disciple and participating in disciplining others. (Gal. 6:1-2, Matt. 7:1-5, Matt. 18)
  • I am committed to regularly attending worship services and participating as opportunity arises.
  • I will participate in nurture opportunities such as Sunday school, Bible school, revival meetings, prayer mettings, and small groups, for my personal spiritual growth. (Heb. 10:24-25)
  • I will support evangelism and service activities with gifts of time, prayer, and finances as the Lord guides me. (Matt. 28:18-20)

Commitment to Daily Christian Living

  • I am committed to maintaining a meaningful daily devotional life.
    (Psalm 1:2-3)
  • I am committed to a life characterized by peace, and I will practice nonresistance in all areas.
    (John 18:36, Matt. 5:38-48, Romans 12:18-21, 1 Cor. 6:1-8)
  • I am committed to the family as the foundational unit of church and society. I believe in the permanency of marriage terminated only by death.
  • I support the policy of not receiving members who are divorced and remarried while a former spouse is living.
    (Romans 7:2-3, Mark 10:2-10)
  • I am committed to financial responsibility and a simple lifestyle that avoids extravagance and the spirit of materialism.
    (2 Cor. 9:6-15, Luke 16:10-13)
  • I support this covenant and by the grace of God will follow it as my guide for Christian living.
